Inter Milan defender Ashley Young is said to be attracting interest from a host of clubs in the United States Major League Soccer, amid reports he could be leaving the Italian Serie A giants when the season comes to an end. Young is currently in the final year of his Inter Milan contract and as it stands, the club have not started contract talks with him and his agent, and reports have claimed that instead of signing a new contract at the club, he will be leaving as a free agent this summer.
However, the reverse has been the case and instead of sitting down with players and discussing new terms, they have reportedly been looking at possible summer transfer targets they want to sign instead. Last week, it was reported that Young’s former club Watford have entered the race to sign the player as a free agent as they look to bring him back to Vicarage Road where he started his career, but those rumors have now died down.
The fresh reports are claiming that the player is currently a major transfer target for clubs in the MLS, especially Atlanta United. If the reports are to be believed, the MLS club want Young to be their first summer signing and will try to engage in contract negotiations with the player once his contract with Inter Milan expires in the summer.
The Daily Mail is reporting that Young wants to continue his career in Europe, meaning that he could eventually decide to make a return to Watford instead.
