TEXAN SPICE

Houston Dynamo right back Kofi Sarkodie has stated that the Texas Derby has been given more spice after the substantial improvement made by FC Dallas this season. Both teams will be coming up against each other in one of the fiercely contested matches over the course of the season. Houston and have started the season well with just one defeat in the first three matches, but their form is now match for the start made by FC Dallas. It has been getting all the attention this season as the team sit top of the Western Conference table after four matches.

New manager Oscar Pareja has made a lot of changes to the team, which has made them more competitive according to Sarkodie. He says that Houston Dynamo should be aware of all the threat posed by their opposition. Sarkodie reckons that it will be a fight till the death when the two sides come against each other at this stage of the season. The confidence of Houston Dynamo has certainly been dented after the 2-1 loss at the hands of Vancouver whitecaps. Still, Sarkodie reckons that the team can put behind this defeat and get back to winning ways starting with this match.

“If you look at Pareja’s teams, they have a little more grit. They’re going to fight, they’re going to battle. With the players he has in Dallas, he has a lot of pace. It’s going be a really down-and-dirty game with a lot of grit,” said right back Kofi Sarkodie about the upcoming match.

“Sometimes, a change of coach brings out some better play in people. Let’s be honest, they haven’t lost a game yet and they’re doing it without [defender] George John,” said Dynamo head coach Dominic Kinnear previewing this match. This represents a great opportunity for Houston Dynamo to stay in touch with Columbus Crew.
