BIELER DELIGHTED

Claudio Bieler has said that he is just delighted to be back at Sporting Kansas City. The forward came back to the club at the start of the 2013 season. He scored 11 goals in 31 appearances, as the club’s finished second in the table just one point behind table leaders New York Red Bulls. The club will now be hoping for a better 2014 especially given that Bieler is now feeling fully settled. The 29-year-old has played for numerous clubs during his career. However, he has not spent an extended amount of time in any one of them.

Kansas City will be hoping that this is not the case, as the striker proved to be a real revelation last season. He may have finished 12 goals behind eventual top scorer Camilo Sanvezzo, but the influence he had on his team has been immense. The ups and downs for him during the season, but the 29-year-old is just hoping that the second season will be full of happiness. Last season, he became the first designated player of Kansas City to hit double figures. Some of the memorable moments from last season included the extra time goal against New England in the conference semifinal.

Even though he lost the first-team spot to Dom Dryer later in the campaign, he is hoping for a much better second season to the club.

“I’m happy to be back. For me, it’s a new season. What happened last year is a good memory, and now it’s about competing in these three competitions that we’re going to be involved in this season, and try to get the most fruit out of it. For me, my head at the end of the season was to enjoy the title and to go back home and enjoy my family,” said the striker.
