WINLESS RUN CONTINUES

Columbus Crews’s winless run since March continued after this weekend as well, after they suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Sporting Kansas City. After the match, Columbus manager Gregg Berhalter admitted that his teammates simply not good enough to get the victory since Kansas City that better in every regard of the match. Berhalter was a happy man at the start of the season, as Columbus made in blistering start to the campaign. However, the winless run is starting to affect him in the last few weeks.

The club will now be hoping that they take a win from the next match against Houston Dynamo to end this bad run of form. However, this will have to do this without the services of midfielder Wil Trap, who has been a regular feature of this team since the start. He received two yellow cards against Kansas City and will be suspended for the Houston Dynamo match as a result of it.
Berhalter said that the most disappointing aspect of the match was the way in which his players presented themselves against Kansas, who lead the table right now.

However, the advantage is not significant since they only hold a two-point advantage over Columbus in the table, and according to the statistics site england italien odds, they might not get a chance to add to that any time soon.

“In all honesty, Kansas City is the better team right now. We’re not there yet. I think it’s the way that we presented ourselves in the first half that I was disappointed in. The second half we came out and we played. We played the way know how to play. It was a lot better, and for that I’m proud of the guys. We know we can play; we’re a good team. They’re also a good team. But I think today they just outworked us a little bit,” said the manager after the match.
