Nicklas Bendtner might make move to MLS expansion side Atlanta United FC

There is news that former Arsenal player might make a move to Atlanta United FC.

The player who has been released by Wolfsburg is available on a free transfer and could be the first signing for the MLS expansion side who is supposed to start playing in 2017.

It is believed that Atlanta United FC technical director Carlos Bocanegra has already begun discussions with the former Arsenal player’s agent, but they have yet to make a formal offer to the player.

NicklasBendtner joined Wolfsburg in 2014 when Arsenal released him, but he has failed to make an impact for the German club. In fact, he was renowned for the off-field problems that he created at the club. Indeed, the player was banned from entering the training ground as he was reported for causing havoc in the dressing room.

During his time at Wolfsburg, he managed 47 appearances for the club and scored nine goals for them. He did not feature in the team for at least three months before he was released by the club.

Even during his time at Arsenal he was not renowned for being an outstanding player and for large sections of the Arsenal fanbase he was just an arrogant player. Indeed, he failed to make an impact with players such as Robin van Persie and Emmanuel Adebayor around him, and he was released when his contract expired.

However, he has been quite a good player with Danemark where he has managed to score 29 goals in 72 appearances. Whenever he is in form, NicklasBendtner can be quite a decent player and can turn out to be a good signing for Atlanta United FC if only they manage to get him to calm down and to focus on his football.
