BRADLEY STARTS

New Toronto FC signing Michael Bradley has stated that he is likely to start in the club’s first match of the season after previously being doubtful for this encounter due to an injury. Seattle Sounders will be the first opponents for Toronto FC as they begin the new season. It is one that promises a lot since the club has made important signings over the course of the off-season. They have brought in Bradley, who is one of the important and influential midfielders in the United States national team, and Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe.

The former England international arrives with a reputation of having recently become the highest goalscorer for Tottenham in Europe. He is a proven player at the top level. This coupled with the experience of Ryan Nelsen as the manager is expected to propel Toronto to trophy success this campaign. However, they have been given a tough start with a match against Seattle Sounders. It was imperative that the club had all their top stars fit for this encounter, but Bradley was a major doubt. Bradley also welcomed the arrival of Defoe to the club. He says that everyone at the club are excited at the prospect of Defoe spearheading their attack.

“I think it kind of gives everybody the sense that now we’re getting going, the season’s starting. I think we all watched the games this weekend and at this point I’m just really excited to get going. Seeing [Defoe] in the locker room this morning, now it’s like, ‘Alright, we can start now.'” said Bradley. Meanwhile, Ryan Nelsen has spoken a lot about midfielder Jonathan Osorio. Nelsen also says that it is extremely good news that Bradley is back for the match against Seattle Sounders.

“Light training again for him. It’s more holding him back and pulling on the reigns is my biggest problem with Michael,” said Nelsen.
