The Hotlanta Soccer Association (HSA), an athletic and social club, was conceived and created to foster diversity, equality, and fraternity for all members of the gay community in the Atlanta metropolitan area. Members are able to engage in an easy-to-learn, fast-paced, contact sport to pursue their personal athletic and fitness goals, regardless of skill, experience, or conditioning. In addition, members can socialize in a relaxed atmosphere with other fun, easy-going, and accepting people.
We compete locally in Atlanta soccer leagues as well as participate in tournaments throughout the world. Organized by IGLFA, the International Gay and Lesbian Football Association, tournaments are held several times during the year in cities ranging from Ft. Lauderdale to Berlin. Our current teams, the Hotlanta Heat, placed 6th in the world at the Gay Games in Sydney, placed 4th in the world at the '98 Gay Games in Amsterdam; and our 2nd team, the Hotlanta Blaze, placed 1st in Hotlanta Sports Classic and 7th at the Indoor Tournament in New York.
We are always looking for new players and spectators. We encourage everyone to come out and watch the games. Not sure you remember how to play soccer? No problem, we have players of all skill levels. Heck, we just let some of the guys play because they look so sexy in those soccer shorts. This is first and foremost a recreational team with the main purpose of having a good time.
HSA members are welcome to attend board meetings. If you have a specific item that you want discussed at an upcoming board meeting, email gene@hotlantasoccer.com at least two days before the board meeting.
